If you want to take great pictures, it is essential to master the lighting and composition. This article is intended to give the basics of lighting and to provide a starting point starting point for their own education.
Lighting can be the most important element in his photography tool overall. When you frame the picture, you should always be looking at the light sources, identifying where the shadows are the training and assessment what to do to compensate.
The easiest way to compensate for shadows is to use a flash to fill the dark areas. If you have an automatic camera you may need to force the flash, depending on conditions or if you have a good SLR like the Canon Rebel digital SLR, then the activation flash is manual and only have to understand how to activate it.
I would recommend experimenting with taking pictures in dark or shaded areas, so you can use the flash to reduce the harshness of contrast (as well as filling in dark areas), just remember that the flash has a range of just 4.5 steps so no will be effective for long distance shots.
The best light to take great pictures is early morning or early evening, avoiding the midday when the light tends to be very hard and the color wash and flatten the depth of their imagery.
One last thing to remember is that if you are using a flash, eye Red can be a problem, there are two easy ways to avoid this, get a flash of red eyes (this is a double flash drive) or simply asking subjects to look over you.
These are the basic rules of lighting, the rest is just practice and getting to know your camera. Remember that film and the CCD (the part of the camera digital image capture) are not as responsive or adaptive than the human eye to light in the final image may look slightly different to the composition of real life practice will show how the camera is adjusted and therefore allowances you need to do.
